This Privacy Policy applies to the "TaCam" App (hereinafter referred to as "this App," "we," or "us"). We take your privacy very seriously. Please read this policy carefully before using this App to fully understand how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. By using this App, you signify your agreement to all terms of this policy.

 

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

1.1 Device Connection & Network Permissions

To establish a Wi-Fi connection between the dashcam device and your phone, we require:

  • Wi-Fi Status & Network Info: including SSID and BSSID (Wi-Fi MAC address), used for secure device pairing and connection;

  • Device Identifiers: such as Android ID, IMEI, or MAC address, to identify the device, ensure connection stability, and prevent misuse.

1.2 Storage Permissions

To save videos, images, and audio files recorded by the dashcam, we request:

  • Read/Write External Storage: to download files from the dashcam to your phone, or read local videos for playback and sharing. All files are stored locally on your device only.

1.3 Location Information (Only When Necessary)

Certain features (e.g., speed watermark overlay, route tracking, GPS logging) require location access. We only collect this with your explicit consent:

  • GPS & Network Location: used to record driving speed, route, and time-stamp information. You can revoke this permission anytime in your system settings. Refusing this will not affect basic recording functionality.

1.4 Other Non-Personal Information

To improve user experience, we may collect anonymized statistical data, including:

  • User Behavior Logs: such as page clicks, feature usage frequency, and browsing duration – used solely to analyze feature popularity and refine our service.

2. Third-Party SDKs

To enable certain functions, this App may integrate third-party SDKs (Software Development Kits). These SDKs collect necessary information per their own privacy policies. Currently integrated SDKs include (subject to actual implementation):

  • Google Maps SDK: for map display, location services, and route visualization; may collect WLAN state, location, and device identifiers.

We conduct strict security reviews of third-party SDKs, but we recommend reviewing their official privacy policies for complete details.

3. Data Storage and Protection

  • Local Storage Only: All videos, images, and log files downloaded via this App are stored locally on your phone. We do not upload them to any cloud servers.

  • No Personal Identifiable Information Collected: No registration or login is required; we do not collect your name, phone number, email, ID number, or any similar personal information.

  • Security Measures: We employ industry-standard security measures (e.g., encrypted transmission, access controls) to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or leakage of data.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

  • We do not proactively share your personal information with third parties, except in the following cases:

  • As required by applicable law, judicial order, or administrative authority;

  • To protect national security, public safety, or your vital legal interests;

  • With your explicit consent.

5. Your Rights and Choices

  • Withdraw Consent: You can revoke any permission (camera, microphone, location, storage, etc.) anytime via your phone's system settings;

  • Delete Data: Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data associated with it;

  • Manage Files: You can manually delete downloaded videos, images, and logs using your phone's file manager.

6. Children's Privacy

This App is intended for adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will delete it promptly.

7. Policy Updates

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via in-app pop-ups, email, or prominent notices within the App. The revised policy takes effect on the date of publication. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Important Notice: Dashcam usage on public roads involves recording images and potentially audio. Please ensure full compliance with local laws and regulations regarding privacy, data protection, and in-vehicle recording. Continuous GPS usage in the background may increase battery consumption. This App does not record continuously in the background by default; please refer to the actual feature set for details.
